Heineken Africa Foundation

Heineken has launched the Heineken Africa Foundation to support the improvement of health for people living in Sub-Saharan African communities by financially supporting relevant health projects and health-related education. Projects are carried out in countries in which Heineken is operating and the Foundation participates in projects in smaller cities or villages where the project can be integrated with the local brewery’s operations.

Heineken has a strong focus on the implementation of sustainability related programmes. Cooperation with global and /or local partners (NGOs / Overseas development ministries / international organisations) has led to several positive developments in social and environmental areas. In Sub-Sahara Africa, Heineken has focused on the implementation of a health care policy. This has resulted in a high-level quality health care infrastructure whereby employees and family members benefit from receiving a total healthcare package, including treatment of HIV, Aids, malaria and tuberculosis. The Heineken Africa Foundation takes this medical support for Heineken employees further by focusing on health projects in communities outside the company.
